*Real horse pedigrees/information are used for research purposes only*
Send breeding requests to: [email protected] with "breeding request" or something similar in the heading.
*All breedings are free; I'll send a pedigree and breeding certificate back at least 4 generations where possible (rangebred Mustangs and Chincoteagues may not have this information available)
Please send the following information for the foal
Name:
Year born:
Breed:
Color: (base color and pattern(s) for appy/pinto)
Gender:
Make/Mold:
Owner name/stable name:
If you are only using one of my horses, please send the same information and a pedigree (3-generations if possible) of the other parent.
If you would like to send along a photo of the foal (taken by you, or one you have permission to use) I will eventually put it on a foals page, and on your breeding certificate. I would also like to possibly use the photo for breeding stock classes.
AGE
Foals must be 4 years younger than both parents. Mares will have open years listed, any year not marked as "open" is unavailable. Mares can only have 1 foal per year. If you simply MUST have twins, I will only allow them on a very limited basis.
All horses will be available for breeding between age 4 and age 20 (with very few exceptions). "Pensioned" horses are those over 20 years old, but do have available years listed, if you need older bloodlines. These are often foundation stock for my own breeding program, so you'll see a lot of their offspring on my pages as well.
GENETICS AND FANTASY COLORS
Please follow color genetics as closely as possible. I will accept decorator and non-realistic colors, but only if they are assigned a somewhat believable real color that is genetically possible from the parents you want. For example, I won't put "gold charm" on a breeding certificate, but if you call it "palomino," and palomino is a genetically possible color for the foal, that will work.
Some of my horses are listed as "homozygous" black, gray, etc. A homozygous black does NOT carry red, and so can't have a chestnut-based foal, a homozygous gray will always pass gray to its foals. A homozygous tobiano will always pass tobiano. Any black NOT listed homozygous can pass on red. Gray or Tobiano not listed as homozygous can have non-gray or solid-colored offspring. Also, all my appaloosa-patterned horses can have solid or non-typical foals, with a couple exceptions. If a horse is listed as "few-spot" or "snowcap" they will always have patterned offspring.
I use the term "sabino" to refer to any of the similar white patterns, both those that are testable and not testable. I am aware that "Sabino" is the official name of only a specific one of those white patterns and is not found in every breed. There are many patterns found in many breeds that have a very similar phenotype, and are still generally referred to as "sabino-like".
MODELS AND FANTASY MOLDS
I will allow horses of almost any make/mold to be bred from my horses including Hartland, Schleich, Safari, CollectA, etc. However, horses that are very much "toy type" such as Grand Champions or Barbie horses may not be accepted.
Unicorn and Pegasus molds are treated as regular horses, just as decorator colors are treated as realistic colors. I will NOT breed centaurs or any fantasy model that is not mostly horse-like.
OTHER NOTES
I will allow BSO (Body Stock Only) breedings from my stallions and some older mares, but only on a limited basis. I use BSOs myself to move forward certain old bloodlines or coat patterns.
I try to follow breed naming rules and conventions to an extent. Some of my models may not have "correct" names because they have previous show records under that name. I can be pretty flexible with this if you have a horse with a show record, NAN cards, or you just really like a name that doesn't quite fit tradition.
Please do not use any of my horses as parents for yours without my permission.
Real horses in a pedigree will be marked with (r). Real horses in pedigrees are for educational/entertainment purposes only, and we do not make any sort of profit off them. No real horses were harmed in the making of this website.
